The EA Create Capture team provides high-quality body, face and camera motion performances and 3D likeness capture for in-game, cinematic and narrative sequences. We are looking for an accomplished Motion Capture Studio Manager to oversee the operations and activities of EA’s Los Angeles-based, motion capture studio. “Capture LA” serves the motion capture needs for all of EA’s game development teams world- wide. We capture a wide spectrum of data types – 3D scanning, virtual cinematography, and motion capture to name a few. You will have a background in motion capture or related industry, project management, and team leadership. As the Studio Manager, you will oversee studio operations, coordinating with clients, optimizing workflows and managing a team of professionals. You will report to the Capture’s Senior Acquisition Manager who maintains consistency across all locations.
Responsibilities:
Studio Operations Management:
- Lead and empower a dynamic team in the motion capture studio, driving excellence and success in every project.
- Innovate and improve studio operations, spearheading strategies that revolutionize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Champion cutting-edge technology, maintaining state-of-the-art equipment and software to meet the demands of even the most ambitious projects.
- Mastermind seamless scheduling and coordination, maximizing efficiency and resource use for flawless project execution.
- Vigilantly manage studio expenses, making informed decisions that keep budgets in check without sacrificing quality or creativity.
- Prioritize the well-being of our team, ensuring a safe and inspiring studio environment that follows health and safety regulations.
Team Management:
- Assemble an exceptional team of motion capture professionals through strategic recruitment and skillful management.
- Empower team members with clear responsibilities, streamlining workflow and ensuring projects stay on track.
- Cultivate a vibrant and harmonious work environment, promoting a culture of collaboration, creativity, and growth.
- Nurture excellence through regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and identifying avenues for professional advancement.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with clients, creative directors and production teams to understand requirements to meet expectations.
- Oversee motion capture and scanning sessions, ensuring quality data capture and adherence to project timelines.
- Maintain relationships with game team partners, understanding their needs, and providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and best practices related to motion capture.
- Work through project plans to understand motion capture requirements and oversee development of production plans to ensure all requirements are met.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in motion capture technology, industry trends and future client needs recommending improvements, upgrades and studio growth.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years experience in motion capture, video game production or related industry in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Team management abilities, with a focus on promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
• The ability to collaborate with clients, team members, and partners.
US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.BASE SALARY RANGES • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): ° $113,300 – $171,700Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
