Working with Broomfield’s Camp Explorer is one of the most demanding and rewarding jobs you will ever have! We are searching for compassionate, strong, and fun folks to work at either of our high quality camp programs.

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties

These positions assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Camp Explorer program. All employees are directly responsible for overseeing the camp site and its staff, along with all aspects of the program which may include staff management, state license compliance, and curriculum development.

The 2023 Camp Explorer program runs May 31 – August 4 with training required May 22 – May 26. Weekly hours range from Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, actual schedule is flexible, and locations are Broomfield Heights Middle School for K-5 and Broomfield Commons Park for Middle School programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Current, valid AED, First Aid and CPR Certifications preferred
  • Previous experience in an organized recreation program and experience working with the public in providing customer service preferred
  • Must possess or obtain a valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid Certification and CPR within 21 days of hire and maintain for continued employment.
  • Applicants must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check, child abuse and sex-offender registry check. Fingerprint checks through CBI/FBI are required.
