Business Advisory Lead, Business Planning & Operations, AWS WWPS

The Business Advisory Lead position will be responsible for developing stakeholder relationships with their field-sales business-operations partner and subject matter experts (SMEs) within the Business Planning and Operations (BP&O) team. In addition, they will serve as a stakeholder advocate into SME decision making. Activities will include developing proficiency with various functions, and their respective SMEs such as long-term planning, sales productivity, customer coverage models, and strategic priorities to deliver high-impact business recommendations to their stakeholders within AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS). The BP&O organization includes strategic, longer-term programs and functions with rich data, and this person will lead the effort in weaving these disparate data sources together and synthesize those into actionable business insights for their dedicated business partner’s interests to influence decision making.

Key job responsibilities

– Serve as the intersection between business-segment specific and technical-function specific experts in order to tailor and synthesize insights from global programs, functions, data, and analyses into their assigned customer-segment.

– Write documents, summarizing SME analysis to deliver business-segment specific insights to their business partners.

– Identify the most important analyses for supporting necessary change management in support of the long-term vision and WWPS strategy.

– Earn trust by making business recommendations that are actionable, data-driven, precise, and reflect business-segment nuances and relevancy.

– Relentlessly solve our internal customers’ challenges with the right information at the right time, often identifying those challenges before our customers are aware they exist.

– Drive analytics projects to provide deep insights into business performance and go-forward strategy and resource investment implications.

– Coordinate across AWS to share programs and best-practices as well as participate on any pan-corporation programs as needed.

– Act as an extension of business-operations partner’s team, assisting with analytical projects focused on deep insights that enable business planning decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree with a major in

quantitative/statistical, computer science, or finance

– 7+ years experience in business planning and operations

– Cross functional project delivery experience

– Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

– Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery

– Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

– Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

– Experience defining and executing program requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Advanced degree (MIS, MA, MBA) from an accredited university

– Relationship-building and influencing skills

– Analytical reasoning and ability to build proficiency across a breadth of technical functions

– Highly organized with program management skills/experience

– Ability to influence change

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
