Pay: $19.20 – $26.40 per hour (Based on experience)
Hours: 7:30am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday
The Senior Customer Service Representative acts as a liaison between Burke Corporation and Burke Corporation customers, sales representatives, and brokers. Acts a lead on various assigned projects and backs up Customer Service Supervisor.
Primary Duties:
Customer Service
- Notification/Resolution of order issues
- Receives and initiates customer complaints;
- Initiates tracking of missing or delayed shipments;
- Presents new product ideas to customers and has a high degree of product knowledge with the ability to answer questions and recommend current products;
Lead Activities
- Assists with the planning and implementation of new systems, policies, and procedures.
- Reconciles customer needs with schedule, and acts as back-up to Supervisor when problems exist
- Responsible for all donation requests- entering and logging
- Making sure all claims are getting filed whether a customer or a freight line
- Liaison for getting certificate of insurance and letter of guarantee’s for customer
- Watching MTO item closely
Order Entry
- Processes orders for products received by mail, FAX, or telephone from customer or company employee;
- Edits orders received for price and accuracy
- Confirms with customer – prices, shipping date, anticipated delay, and any additional information needed by customer, e-mail or telephone
- Works with shipping department to ensure delivery by specified dates
- Works with scheduling to ensure product gets scheduled
Sales Support
- Coordinates samples and information with individual sales representatives;
- Acts as in-house liaison for sales reps and brokers;
- Manages weekly markets and graphs for sales team
Pricelist Support
- Maintains daily meat market files and notification of those markets to appropriate parties.
- Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets. Will be required to protect the company’s rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Required to contribute to harmony in the workplace
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of customer service and telephone experience is preferred
- Must be proficient at using Excel and Word
- AS 400 experience is a plus
- Requires problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person
- Must be self-motivated, courteous, tactful, cooperative, inquisitive, and must work efficiently and accurately
- Must be able to deal appropriately with stressful situations and with different personalities
- Must be able to work with multiple open issues effectively and accurately
