JOB TITLE: Building Safety and Special System Lead
JOB GOAL: Under general direction, performs skilled work in the repair and maintenance of building doors and gates including associated hardware and access control systems as well as fire alarm, intercom, intrusion control, and camera systems associated with District buildings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Arizona driver’s license
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems
- Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance , stoop or kneel
- Knowledge of hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of fire alarm, intercom, and access control systems
- Working knowledge of commercial doors, frames and hardware
- Working knowledge of locks and keying, previous experience as a locksmith preferred
- Read and understand building plans and specifications
- General knowledge of building codes
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 Days
COMPENSATION: $24.95-$34.15
BENEFITS: As per District policy
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Operations
EVALUATION: Per District Policy
HOURS: 40 hours per week and may require longer hours
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supervises maintenance security technicians and apprentices
- Install, repairs and services mechanical and/or electrical locking devices and other door hardware; changes, sets and rekeys door cylinders and plugs, cuts and issues keys
- Oversee and assist with the service and repair on building security systems
- Maintain and repair electronic communication systems, such as fire alarm systems, intercom, security and other related systems
- Establish and maintain records for materials and parts required to complete work orders and construction projects
- Monitor and oversee the work orders and parts orders assigned to Maintenance Security Technicians and Apprentices
- Estimate labor and material costs associated with an internal project
- Scheduling during the school year for repairs as well as preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings
- Interface with outside contractors during remodel and new construction projects to insure the District’s requirements are being met
- On Call 24/7
- Maintain a safe work environment for technicians and customers
- Performing duties relating to other job functions in the Maintenance Department as assigned by the supervisor.
