Systems Engineer / Analysis and Software Code Review

Responsibilities

Our Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – Analysis / Code Review to join their diverse team in Layton, UT.

Location: On-site in Layton, UT

The NSCCA program supports the Air Force’s critical mission of ensuring the safety of nuclear weapon systems. We perform rigorous analysis and testing of nuclear weapon system software to ensure the system cannot violate the DoD Nuclear Surety standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform assessments of systems, reviewing software with a focus on finding flaws and suggesting possible improvements.
  • Perform code examination, analysis and testing and may work with system simulators and statistical analysis.
  • Reviewing and analyzing systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces to quickly acquire the system knowledge to understand the design and functionality.
  • Identifying the hardware and software portions of systems for safety and mission critical functionality.
  • Performing detailed evaluation of embedded software to verify that software requirements are correctly implemented in the design and code of embedded computers and that the resulting code does not contain embedded safety hazards.
  • Identifying requirements, design, and test procedures that will ensure the system will perform as expected.
  • Documenting analysis performed with resulting anomalies identified.
  • Presenting findings to peers, customers, and management.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently and with a team.
  • Must be able to multi-task.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10
  • Bachelor’s of Science (STEM) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Math, or Physics.
  • Experience and/or coursework in any object-oriented programming language.
  • Must be able to identify logic errors, code inconsistencies and inefficiencies, safety hazards associated with software and/or hardware design languages, code design, and requirement specifications.
  • Must have technical writing experience and be capable of writing technically and grammatically correct documentation.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming languages
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Range for Posting

Salary Minimum: $40,000
Salary Mid: $80,000
Salary Maximum: $100,000
