Position Description:

CGI is seeking an Azure Cloud Architect, who is strategic-minded, individual contributor, technology leader with a consistent track record of identifying gaps, defining roadmaps, and a guide in cloud migration projects. This role will provide technical leadership to multiple engineering and product teams, develop platform architecture blueprints, set up end to end DevOps and guide the delivery teams to smoothly migrate into an Azure cloud platform from on premise footprint. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in software engineering, platform architecture, and large-scale delivery in a fast-paced, agile environment, and must be capable of influencing across the multiple teams by partnering with product owners and technology partners to drive product vision and execution.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Cloud Architect will be designing and deploying cloud-based solutions, developing migration plans, conducting risk assessments, identifying technical requirements, and leading project timelines. Successful candidates for this job should have a solid understanding of cloud computing technologies, data migration techniques, and security standards

• Assess current infrastructure and determine cloud migration feasibility.
• Develop migration plan, including system design, architecture, and security considerations.
• Migrate applications, data, and infrastructure to cloud environment.
• Monitor and track progress during migration process.
• Work with application team to ensure business needs are met during and after migration.
• Provide post-migration support and address any issues that arise and provide a mitigation plans for issues.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for optimization and cost savings in the cloud environment.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and standard methodologies related to cloud migration and technology advancements.
• Collaborate with all IT teams under your sector, including developers and operations, to ensure use of standard processes and guidance in development and security compliances.
• Maintain documentation relating to migration process and procedures.
• Set up end to end DevOps operations for the delivery projects.
• Act as DevOps Lead for all deliveries.
• Promote awareness of security principles and standards in architecture and development community by conducting periodic trainings and office hours.
• Mentor and guide engineers and tech lead on design, code standards, and performance.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 10+ years of wide-ranging software engineering experience
• 5+ years of practical experience with architectural, engineering, and operational aspects of cloud technologies in Azure.
• Must have experience in implementing end to end migration of on-premises applications into Azure.
• 3+ years of proven experience setting up and leading end to end DevOps is a Must.
• 3+ years of proven experience with Cloud Compute, Containers/Dockers.
• 3+ years of proven experience with container deployment architecture using Kubernetes.
• 2+ years of experience with architecting cloud agnostic solutions with heavy use of open-source alternative stacks.
• Experience architecting Infrastructure and application monitoring.
• Experience in architecting SaaS and Multitenant solutions.
• Experience with Cloud AI/ML is a plus.
• Prior experience as a team lead is preferred.
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, systems engineers, and architects.
• Ability to work well/collaborate with people from many different teams with varying degrees of technical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in multi-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system integration activities.
• Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to define and communicate technical strategy/vision and influence across CGI sector is essential.
• Demonstrate ability to do demo on a client engagement or on a CGI booth/CGI conference.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, or equivalent.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $107k-$251k.
