As the Assistant Vice President of Communications, you will be responsible for acting as a communications advisor, developing, and executing fully integrated internal communications plans, ensuring that communications align with and support the key business objectives of the business. This individual will have the opportunity to create and implement innovative and strategic programs that drive employee engagement, disseminate critical crisis and business continuity communications, and convey change to the organization and key business partners.

This individual will join Virtual Client Solutions (VCS) and will collaborate with leadership at all levels as well as several internal partners including Legal and Compliance, Corporate Communications, and other teams across the firm. This position reports into the Executive Director of Marketing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-pronged approach for strategic, drip and ad hoc messaging in support of employee engagement, key business initiatives and various Employee Resource Groups
  • Coordination and execution of management town halls and leadership sessions utilizing various modalities (Zoom, On24, Vbrick, On location)
  • Develop a communication approach to align and reconcile employee messaging to solve for employee saturation including technology solutions or alternatives
  • Work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to ensure message consistency and adhere to brand standards
  • Craft, review, edit and manage the production of internal communications (e.g., internal newsletters, employee and leadership talking points, calendars, intranet publications, keynote presentations, organizational announcements and social)
  • Actively engage in the internal project portfolio and related release schedules to support communication planning and coordinated implementation of initiatives across all businesses
  • Deliver communications to employees through a range of platforms and channels
  • Define metrics and report on all key business objectives
  • Keep abreast of developments and best practices in the communications field (e.g., use of social media, podcasts, multi- media approach).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of experience writing and messaging in a high-volume, fast paced environment
  • Any experience with various multi-media tools (podcasts, video, Zoom, On24, Vbrick, Adobe, Microsoft Teams, Jive, Skype)
  • Experience working in an innovative, creative and highly collaborative environment
  • Experience with planning and driving projects with cross functional teams (ie legal, compliance)
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities using strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial Services, Corporate Communications and/or call center experience

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or independently
  • Structured/analytical thinker with outstanding attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal, grammar, and written communication skills

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85k and $135k per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
