Salary Details:
Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position starts at $40,059 and may increase depending on the mentioned factors.
Required Education:
4 Year Degree
Serve as the department’s athletic communications and operations coordinator for all 11 athletic programs and eSports programs. The Technical Assistant will be responsible for creating and maintaining content on mcctribunes.com, managing statistics, implementing a comprehensive social media strategy, and promoting MCC athletics through various outlets. In addition, this person will be responsible for securing and managing all game-day workers and oversee all game-day and office operations.
Athletic Communications
- Write and publish press releases and game recaps for all sports and disseminate to all appropriate media avenues.
- Utilize Prestosports and/or Statcrew for all home games for in-game statistical recording and dissemination to opponents, media, the NJCAA, Region III, and WNYAC.
- Implement, monitor, and update comprehensive social media program for athletic department with new video/photo content, including but not limited to infographics, highlights, recaps, and other content.
- Maintain and update the content of the mcctribunes.com webpage daily. Content includes but is not limited to rosters, schedules, statistics, news, and staff directory.
- Responsible for providing all live video and statistics for home games and troubleshooting, setting up, and breaking down necessary equipment.
- Maintain all archives, which include rosters, schedules/results, photos, statistics, rankings, awards, news releases, etc.
- Actively pursue and execute nominations of MCC student-athletes, staff, and coaches for the conference, regional, and national awards/recognition.
- Support athletic-related special events, including but not limited to the Hall of Fame ceremony, athletic awards banquets, and homecoming.
Operations
- Coordinate all regular season and postseason events, arranging facilities, officials, workers, public address, and all other quality event management elements.
- Hire, train, and supervise all game day student workers for all home athletic events.
- Secure transportation for all away contests in conjunction with assigned MCC association liaison. Ensure staff has appropriate clearances to drive College vehicles.
- Manage all game day contracts and scheduling of officials for home contests.
- Work with Director of Athletics to ensure quality execution of sponsor and donor activities.
- Code all student-athletes in the banner system.
- Assist with on-boarding new employees including but not limited to key requests, name tags, office moves, IT requests and needs.
- Schedule all home games in Ad Astra scheduling software
- Order and maintain office supplies for the department.
Secondary Functions:
- Exhibit good writing and speaking abilities in all facets of the role
- Maintain confidentiality, as appropriate according to law or policy, of information acquired in the work of the College
- Assist Facilities director with updating Ad Astra schedule for facility usage
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics/Assistant A.D

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution
- 1-3 years of sports information/athletic communications and game management experience.
- Proficient with technology applications applicable to the position, including scheduling statcrew, prestosports, facility maintenance requests, Microsoft office and outlook.
- Demonstrated organizational and management ability.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Knowledge of NJCAA/NCAA rules and regulations.
- Must be available to travel, some overnight possibilities, maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to secure and maintain College certification to drive College vehicles.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as program schedule dictates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
- Sports information/athletic communications and game management experience preferred.
