Subject to management approval, this position will oversee Investigations Team Supervisors who are responsible for investigations of allegations of child abuse and neglect. The position provides input into regional planning activities for child protection and child welfare and coordinates community and field office support with its counterparts in the Permanency and Intact Family Services areas. Job Responsibilities
1. As Associate Regional Administrator of Child Protection, administers and directs regional child protection investigations
- Formulates, develops, and recommends policies and procedures for areas of oversight
- Reviews and monitors program activities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, procedures, policy, and performance standards, and provides oversight to ensure that those activities are coordinated to provide the greatest benefit to clients
- Provides extensive input into the development and coordination of a system of community-based services relevant to child protection services
- Provides high level consultation and input to the Regional Administrator in all areas of child protection services
- Designs and recommends necessary changes to practice, protocol, and policy as needs arise
- Confers with the Regional Administrator and facilitates implementation of recommended changes as directed
- Reviews and evaluates the performance of programs and provides input into the development and maintenance of data systems
- Reviews data to note trends which inform practice and/or assist in policy review and development
- Drives or travels to various locations to attend meetings, conferences, etc .

2. Serves as full line supervisor

3. Directs and oversees the investigation and service provision for high profile situation
- Communicates closely with Department superiors, peers, staff, community representatives and the media to share information as appropriate in compliance with law, policy, and confidentiality
4. Serves as liaison to purchase of service agencies and other outside entities
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with social services, healthcare, law enforcement, purchase of service, and other human service organizations in the region
- Explains, interprets, and enforces Department policy, procedures, and state statutes and describes agency operations and programs regarding child protection, as well as human trafficking programs
5. Represents the Department at internal statewide and divisional meetings relative to the 1 management of regional operations
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

5. Consults with and advises community and regional advisory councils, committees, and private agencies on program needs, standards, and services
- Provides input and speaks to community groups and agencies concerning the development and coordination of a system of community-based services relevant to child welfare and protective services
- Provides input into the development and implementation of local, county, and statewide programs and initiatives
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate
- Requires four years of administrative child welfare experience with an MSW or five years of administrative child welfare experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers 5 years of experience managing or conducting child protection investigations
- Prefers a minimum of 3 years of experience supervising professional staff
- Prefers professional experience in the oversight of a large program with multiple sites
- Prefers experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Prefers professional experience conducting planning activities for a social work program on a regional or statewide basis in a management capacity
- Prefers professional experience conducting planning community outreach as a representative of a public or business organization
