Job Summary:
As the Associate Producer you will engage in a range of administrative and producorial duties related to Abrons Arts Center’s exhibitions, live performances, events, and AIRspace Residency programs. This role requires advanced project management and administrative skills capabilities, producing experience for live performance, events, and exhibitions, collaborative skills, and a commitment to Abrons’ values of political and cultural equity. You will report to the Producing Director and will collaborate with the Arts Center’s Production department to execute programmatic initiatives.

You will have:

- At least three years of demonstrated producorial experience for live events, performance, and/or exhibitions, and/or company management

- Confidence and high skill in establishing work priorities, managing timelines, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, implementing, and meeting deadlines
- Strong written communication and copy editing skills
- Strong oral communication skills
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom, and Submittable
You will assist in the producing of Exhibitions by:
- Drafting and executing Letters of Agreement for presenting artists, AIRspace residents, guest curators, and independent contractors
- Scheduling and attending production meetings for administrative support
- Processing honoraria, reimbursements, and any event-related logistics with the Finance department
- Assisting in creating production timelines relating to installation and deinstallation in support of the Producing Director
- Ensuring accuracy of programming information, including dates and copy, in print, online, and in internal databases
- Coordinating and assisting in the production of opening receptions
You will assist in the producing of Live Programming by:
- Drafting contracts for commissioned season artists, guest curators, and independent contractors
- Maintaining production deadlines for performances and public programs in support of the Producing Director
- Scheduling and attending production meetings, technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals to maintain notes and deadlines for production
- Supporting the communication between artists and internal departments like Communications and Front of House
- Processing check requests for artists and vendors
- Collating and organizing logistical information about live programming dates, event times, and seating capacity, and closely ensures accuracy of this information across internal databases, as well as online and in print
- Coordinating hospitality needs for presenting artists, including arranging honoraria, travel, lodging, meals, etc.
Residencies
- Drafting and executing contracts for resident visual, performing, and curatorial AIRspace residents, including guest studio visitors and residency application adjudicators
- Drafting and managing residency applications using Submittable
- Assisting Vice President of Visual and Performing Arts with administrative tasks relating to adjudication processes
- Contracting and schedule studio visitors for residents
- Providing administrative support for resident bi-monthly cohort meetings

The Abrons Arts Center is the arts division of Henry Street Settlement. Abrons is a world-renowned institution that advocates for diverse artistic communities through educational programs, residencies, exhibitions and presentations. Each year Abrons welcomes over 35,000 people with over 20 commissioned performances, 5 gallery exhibitions, 5 artist residencies for performing and studio practitioners, and 100 different classes in dance, music, theater, and visual art. Essential Physical Job Functions:
- Must be New York City based and be present on site 5 days a week.
- Must be COVID-19 vaccinated
- Must be able to move throughout our 40K square foot facility that includes stairs, ramps, indoor and outdoor spaces
- Must be available on select weeknights and weekends in order to execute programming (to be arranged with advanced notice)
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
