Associate Product Manager

Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for managing assigned product lines and categories, strategic and tactical leadership, direction, management, and implementation of product decisions within the assigned product categories. This role is global including product management of assigned product(s) for all regions.
Reporting directly to the Director of Product Manager, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Product lifecycle and product roadmap development on a global scale
- Manage NPI business case development and related marketing responsibilities
- Manage product market and price positioning, profitability, and support commercial activities
- Collaborate with PL marketing team to develop marketing materials/campaigns, web presence, sales tool development, and product training events.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs the assigned product family through all phases of product life cycle–major NPI initiatives; product refreshes, logical line extension.
- Determines, quantifies, manages product position for portfolio; prioritizes all NPI; owns and drafts MRD & PRD documents; writes initial business case & supporting financial analysis development; secures organizational “buy-in” for all product initiatives; drives global marketing launch plans; coordinates field trials; dealer & channel partner product support, supports global sales initiatives.
- P&L – Tracks margin; ownership of margin; input to increase reliability; input to aftermarket services and “products” (extended warranty, monitoring, etc.)
- Develops and recommends price positioning and distribution strategies of assigned product categories which result in optimum share of market and profitability. Works directly with PL/Regional marketing, sales, service and other functional groups to ensure effective implementation of pricing and distribution strategies, segments and channels, including distribution, national accounts and service.
- Conducts market research & VOC initiatives using internal/external resources, uncovers end-users needs, evaluates results and reports on customer satisfaction to include studies to determine market potential for new, redesigned, or existing products. Assures market intelligence is current to capitalize on market opportunities. Reports market information, statistical market share, competitive data and market trends.
- Analyzes global product sales by region, market, and segments to identify strengths/weakness. Reviews sales forecast, develops, with operations management, build and inventory management plans to maximize profit and balance operating expenses. Works with global sales management to develop, implement a strategy to maximize product penetration. Prepares global product launches.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-4 years’ experience required
- 6 years experience in lieu of degree
- 2 or more years of product management, sales, marketing, technical sales or related field
Skills & Abilities:
- Product Management and Marketing skills developed from successful experience in an entry level (i.e.: Marketing Analyst role)
- Excellent communication and interaction skills at all levels
- Ability to manage deadlines and complexity and to think and problem solve analytically and creatively
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and presentation skills
- Teamwork orientation
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Working knowledge of computer software; demonstrated competence with spreadsheets, database applications, and presentations

Physical demands of the position:
- Sitting: Extended periods of sitting at a desk or workstation while working on a computer or performing tasks.
- Standing/Walking: Occasional need to stand or walk within the office premises, such as moving between work areas, meeting rooms, and common spaces.
- Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry office supplies and materials, up to 20 pounds, occasionally.
- Repetitive Motion: Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and manipulating office equipment.
- Vision: Continuous use of visual acuity for reading documents, computer screens, and analyzing data.
- Hearing: Ability to hear and communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and customers in person and over the phone.
- Speaking: Clear and concise verbal communication is essential for interacting with colleagues, clients, and team members.
- Bending/Reaching: Occasional need to bend, stoop, or reach for objects on shelves or in cabinets.
- Climbing: Minimal requirement for climbing stairs or using office building elevators.
- Driving: Not applicable to this position as it is located within an office environment.
*Frymaster in Shreveport, Louisiana is an industry leader in the manufacturing of commercial fryer, fryer filtration equipment (built-in and portable), foodservice equipment computers, water-bath rethermalizers and pasta cookers. The facility in Shreveport is a division of Welbilt, Inc.
