Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Video

Summary of Duties:

Oversee the creative sports video department operations, employees, equipment, and budget. Coordinate the creative video strategy. Perform necessary functions; editing, videography, producing, and directing. Provide oversight of creative video acquisition.

This position makes decisions regarding goals, staffing, budget appropriations, and other aspects of Creative Video; develops and implements strategic planning efforts for the athletic department; establishes policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NCAA, PAC-12, and University rules and regulations; and develops systems that demonstrate a commitment to the goals of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, administrative, business, liberal arts, social sciences, or related discipline plus four (4) years of demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the particular unit, including one (1) year of supervisory responsibility. Any combination of relevant experience and education may be substituted for the required education.
  • Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations established by governing associations.
  • Four years’ experience in producing and creating sports video content for promotions, board shows, social media, short- and long-form storytelling, and game highlight recaps.
  • Expertise in video editing and using software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
  • Experience in remote and studio production including; technical directing, editing, camera operation, and audio.
  • Experience and knowledge of creative video strategy.
  • Must keep regular hours with periodic evening and weekend work, including occasional travel.
  • Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time of hire.
  • While using a private vehicle for official business, the successful candidate must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090) and possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Athletics in a higher education environment.
