This is a paid internship, range of $21hr – $25/hr (depending on role and qualifications) for those currently pursuing undergraduate degrees and higher rates for those currently pursuing graduate level degrees.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Sound Transit has an exciting Art internship available for the summer of 2024! This position may be eligible for remote or hybrid options. This is a great opportunity for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who want to observe and participate in real world application of their current field of study with a focus on Art. Students from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
JOB DUTIES:
- Working independently to compile accurate data and information about all details of producing integrated artwork.
- Drafting reports for project support and information sharing.
- Graphic production for presentations, publicizing events, and producing educational materials.
- Keeping organized and easily accessible records of images and content.
POTENTIAL PROJECTS:
- Work with the entire STart Team in developing interpretive material for digital and print use about the individual artworks in the Sound Transit Art Collection.
- The internship will involve coordinating content with other STart Team staff and producing written and visual materials for the public as well as for inter-department communication for multiple platforms, from permanent plaques to web content.
- The internship will support programming for The Roadhouse, a community performance space sponsored by STart.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be a current college student in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree program in Business Management, Communication, Program Management, or other non-technical discipline or relevant two-year certificate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to draft succinct business correspondence.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
- Working knowledge of database principles and software.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary art practices and interest in Public Art.
- Evidence of strong written, visual, and graphic communication skills.
- Basic understanding of principles of data management.

- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
