Steiner Companies is a family-owned, multi-faceted real estate development company located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The Company owns, develops, manages, and operates over 1 million square feet of commercial, residential, and special-use properties in New York and New Jersey. Steiner is seeking an AR/AP Coordinator to work across all of our operating entities. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Job Summary
The AR/AP Coordinator must be extremely organized and detailed oriented with a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities for a high-volume accounting department. Candidates must display sound judgement and professionalism in a high pressure, deadline driven setting. Candidates must possess strong analytical, reconciliation, problem solving skills and the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of staff. This position demands the highest level of ethical conduct.
Job Responsibilities
- Process high volume accounts payable and receivables while ensuring accuracy.
- Correspond and interface with clients, vendors and management regarding account inquiries.
- Review all invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, obtain necessary approval prior to issuing payment and attach delivery tickets.
- Create, track and maintain purchase orders by matching to invoice and delivery tickets for multiple entities.
- Compile receipts for credit card payments and enter monthly activity.
- Apply customer payments and attach corresponding invoices to customer checks.
- Prepare, answer and resolve vendor and customer inquiries, discrepancies and analysis of accounts and make adjustments as needed.
- File, copy and archive records in accounting files.
- Acts as liaison between intercompany departments.
- Special projects on an as needed basis.

Requirements
- Associates degree; accounting or finance preferred
- 2+ years of operational accounting experience
- Expertise in QuickBooks 16.0 or higher
- Highly proficient Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Work Environment
This position is in-person in a professional office environment.

Compensation
Base Salary: $55,000 – $65,000/year
This range represents anticipated base salary range for this position, in addition to competitive benefits. We carefully assess and consider several factors with each candidate, including role-related knowledge, experience and skills. Compensation may vary based on these considerations.
