The Guest Service Lead will assist the aquatics guest service supervisors in the daily operations of two aquatic facilities; Pirates Bay Waterpark and Calypso Cove, this includes concession stands, ticketing, and the gift shop. Handles concession, merchandise, and ticket sales monies. Assists in inventory counts of all merchandise and concessions supplies. Supervises guest service representatives. Sets up all birthday parties and in park rentals on the day of the rental. Assists in performing closing procedures. Assists in maintaining and overall cleanliness of the park and supervises cleaning of concession stands and all other duties as assigned. Responsible for management of a guest service team.
Duties
- Responds to guest questions, comments and complaints.
- Supervises Guest Service Representatives on a daily basis in accordance with City policies.
- Assists in preparing the waterparks for seasonal and daily operations (opening and closing).
- Assists in inventory counts of all merchandise and concessions supplies.
- Cleans concession stands and rental areas in accordance with state and city health codes.
- Sets up all birthday parties and in park rentals on the day of the rental.
- Handles concession, merchandise, and ticket sales monies. Assists in performing closing procedures in accordance with City Cash Handling Procedures policy.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- One year/season of customer service experience.
- Serve Safe Certified or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
PREFERRED:
- American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, AED Certified
- One or more seasons as a Guest Service Representative with the City of Baytown.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Additional Information
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of basic math, health standards, hazards, cooking, cash control procurers, and safety practice procedures (which includes AED, CPR, and First Aid). They must be able to operate, supervise, and prepare food. They will work as part of a team and motivate staff to obtain the highest level of service. They will also be able to work with co-workers and guests to solve any challenges they may arise.
Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work overtime. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.
