SPECIAL NOTES:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology-related field is required (Related experience can be substituted for educational requirements); OR a combination of college coursework and experience as described above may also be interchanged. Professional work experience can qualify on a year-by- year basis in place of the required education. College coursework will be considered the equivalent of experience at the rate of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours on a year for year basis.

Additional requirements:

  • Five (5) or more years of software development experience.
  • Strong C#, ASP.NET MVC fundamentals.
  • Experience with Web API and SQL Server.
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager

The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 -$90,000.00 annually.

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Five (5) or more years of software development experience
  • Strong C#, ASP.NET MVC fundamentals
  • Experience with Web API, and SQL Server
  • Understanding of JavaScript and related frameworks such as AngularJS and React
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment within small teams
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in the English language

OTHER KSAs (Incumbent may learn on job):

  • Competency in client-side web development technology languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with responsive design frameworks, and preferably Bootstrap

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Application Development Programmer III is responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications. Works with teams across the Enterprise Applications group to provide technical direction and mentorship based on approved standards and best practices, developing n-Tier Microsoft .NET web applications using C#.NET and Visual Studio. Writes clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages. Provides systems architecture and design for .NET development. Develops technical interfaces, specifications, and architecture. Creates and test software prototypes. Designs web API’s. Uses and adapts existing web applications for apps. Develops client displays and user interfaces. Designs database objects including necessary stored procedures for Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases. Performs unit and system testing to ensure the designs conform to the solution’s detailed requirement specifications.

Works within a team atmosphere during development of the enterprise application solutions. Assists software personnel in handling project-related work and other requirements.

Coordinates with other software professionals and developers. Remains up to date with the terminology, concepts, and best practices for coding mobile apps. Updates documentation as needed.
