A senior product manager is a key leadership role within a Weyerhaeuser’s product development team. The role involves managing the product development lifecycle from conception to launch, ensuring that products meet customer needs, and driving growth and profitability for the business. To be successful in this role, a senior product manager must have excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, as well as a strong understanding of product development processes, market dynamics, and customer behavior. They must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
This position is part of the Weyerhaeuser Wood Products Sales and Supply Chain Team and reports to the Director of Sales Enablement for Wood Products. This individual is accountable for delivering improved business performance through the development and alignment of our Wood Products business and product line strategies and execution with customer needs.
This role has the ability to be a full-time remote opportunity, but preference is for the selected candidate to be located near one of the following locations: Weyerhaeuser’s Seattle Headquarters, Hot Springs, Arkansas, or in the vicinity of a Weyerhaeuser wood products manufacturing facility.
Key responsibilities of a senior product manager may include:
- Developing and implementing product strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Partnering with sales to identify customer needs, preferences, and pain points, and using this information to inform product development decisions.
- Defining product requirements and creating detailed product roadmaps.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, and marketing, and customers to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Developing go-to-market strategies that maximize product revenue and profitability in selected markets and targeted customers.
- Monitoring product performance and conducting ongoing market analysis to identify opportunities for product improvement or expansion.
- Providing leadership and mentorship to junior product managers and other team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Manages a portfolio of products and services prioritized against business goals and priorities.
- Provides oversight to business leaders, who own the products WY manufactures and align our business strategies to market need. This alignment spans from raw material, to manufacturing capability, to delivering against market need.
- Collaborates with the Sales and Market Intelligence teams to develop market outlooks that drive actionable product mix, segment, channel, and geographic sales and manufacturing plans.
- Leads the team through new product development opportunities – working to connect our customer’s unmet product needs with our internal capabilities – supporting our R&D and our capital planning functions.
- Brand stewards and guides brand marketing for the Wood Products business, interfacing with our Wood Products Marketing and Communications team to support our sales teams with: product and service messaging, review and collaboration on product literature and digital content.
- A champion of LEAN, this individual continually seeks opportunities to streamline and improve business functions as well as facilitate communication and optimization from manufacturing through end customer.
- Supports strategic reviews and special projects including annual plans, roadmaps and capital planning.
- Improves position with national accounts through strategic support.
- Represents Weyerhaeuser Wood Products interests via participation on industry boards and special committees.
Qualifications
Required skills
- 10+ years of experience in sales, manufacturing, finance and/or supply chain roles
- A demonstrated leader who can inspire for execution and has a track record of delivering results; able to lead a high performing team and develop people.
- Strong business and financial competency
- Understands wood products business profitability drivers and quality, ideally from both manufacturing and sales perspective
- Strong team player with ability to deal with conflict, proactively solve problems and effectively communicate
- Facilitate team decision making, while also being quick to offer counsel, provide recommendations and make autonomous decisions
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Master’s degree preferred
This role works with teams across multiple time zones and requires travel throughout North America up to 20% of the time with visits of up to one week in duration.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $122,683 – $184,157 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
