Description
The Housing Stability area of the Health and Human Services department is seeking to fill multiple Application Processor positions with individuals who have strong customer service and communication skills, the ability to learn complex programs, and the desire to serve the community. Interested candidates will need to be able to handle a high level of demanding situations while engaging in frequent interactions with tenants and property owners.

Location and hours:
These positions are remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are flexible between the hours of 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday. Based on business needs of these positions, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In these positions, you will:
- Determine eligibility for rent assistance programs.
- Conduct respectful and trauma-informed customer service.
- Respond to resident and property manager inquiries about applications.
- Gain expertise with the RentHelp Hennepin system.
- Follow RentHelp Hennepin eligibility policies and keep up to date on policy and procedure changes.
- Work as a team with community partners, schools, court navigators, and others.
- Attend all one to one, unit, and program meetings.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Two or more years of experience providing customer/client service.
- Completion of a Public Welfare Financial Worker Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S) degree from an approved school.
- One year of the required experience and completion of the
- 60 or more semester credits in human services or the behavioral sciences such as psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field.

- Experience:
- Working with a housing or rent assistance program.
- Reviewing rent ledgers and leases.
- Using a computer to input, retrieve, and modify information, and performing data entry from paper/electronic documents and forms into a computer system.
- Working with Microsoft Office Suite and/or other data entry and electronic filing systems.
- Use critical thinking skills and apply creative problem solving.
- Conduct oneself professionally and handle sensitive/difficult issues in a tactful manner.
- Recognize and respect cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
- Quickly learn and comprehend complex program guidelines and adapt to changing policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a team to deliver timely services to residents in need.
- Provide excellent customer service.
