Analyst I/Analyst II – Government Accounting, Business Compliance & Ethics

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform financial analysis to prepare and support the annual incurred cost claims (ICCs) to the government, support Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits, and assist with requests from internal and external customers:
    • Support various aspects of the annual incurred cost claim for Ball Aerospace including analysis and preparation of claim adjustments, direct schedule preparation, and other tasks as needed
    • Support the Ball Corporate incurred cost claim, review transactions for unallowable costs
    • Support incurred cost claim audits and negotiations
    • Support Mandatory Annual Audit Requirement (MAAR) 6 and 13 audits as needed
    • Support the Disclosure Statement update process as needed
    • Support Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) audits as needed
  • Maintain general understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); apply concepts to Government Accounting tasks.
  • Perform general ledger account scrubs and reconciliation.
  • Assist in developing new policies and procedures; assist in maintaining current policies and procedures to reflect applicable Government regulation.
  • Participate in meetings with Aerospace departments, DCAA, and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Coordinate with the larger finance organization and other departments to obtain information and reports required for Government audits and inquiries.
  • Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
  • Adhere to Ball Aerospace Inspire, Connect, Achieve behaviors.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the DCAA and DCMA.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

  • Analyst I – BS/BA in a related field.
  • Analyst II – BS/BA in a related field plus 2 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • CPA or CMA Preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) cost principles preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) preferred.
  • Proficient in data analysis and working with large financial data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to relate well with others and help foster inclusive team dynamic.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Flex Work Environment: This position may be performed from a Ball location for the minority of time (e.g., working from both the office location and another location, and typically in the office less than three days in a normally scheduled week). Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ANALYST I: $51,000 – $70,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ANALYST II: $63,000 – $84,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
