What Will You Be Doing?

The Crew Payroll Analyst is the support analyst and subject matter expert for preparing and supporting flight attendant and pilot pay and their associated systems. Working in conjunction with Crew Services, Inflight, Flight Ops and Human Resources, this role is responsible for the administration of flight attendant pay and pilot pay as provided for in the flight attendant and pilot collective bargaining agreements and application of company policy as it relates to pay.

Essential Functions

  • Audit the accuracy of the pay events in CrewTrac using a customized tool set.
  • Prepare monthly pay detail for Flight Attendant Credits, Pilot Credits, Adjustments, Per Diem, Sick and Vacation for payroll processing.
  • Prepare final paycheck figures for terminated flight attendants and pilots and track materials returned.
  • Assist in conducting administrative work in preparation for assembling and processing flight attendant and pilot pay reports.
  • Analyze, investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies for flight attendants and pilots.
  • Oversee Vacation accrual, Sick Time process and unpaid leaves by adjusting FLiCA and CrewTrac then reconciling and auditing the balance in UltiPro.
  • Work closely with Crew Services to communicate vacation balances for annual flight attendant and pilot vacation bids.
  • Audit vacation balances in payroll systems at the conclusion of each pilot and flight attendant bid period.
  • Manage and support the flight attendant pay and pilot pay automated systems including change management process.
  • Determine failure point for pay discrepancies and develop process or system changes to address the problem.
  • Work closely with IT and primary software vendors to ensure quality of operational systems that drive flight attendant and pilot pay.
  • Analyze and develop specifications for customized pay reports and management reports.
  • Develop and manage control points for the flight attendant and pilot pay processes for SOX compliance.
  • Maintain system and business process documentation for pilots and flight attendants.

Other Functions

  • Cross train with both Flight Attendant Payroll Analyst and Pilot Payroll Analyst and other payroll personnel as needed to provide adequate back up when needed.
  • Process development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree related to business processes, information systems, payroll or aviation is highly desirable; combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 3 years of Inflight, Flight Operations, Customer Service or other related airline industry experience
  • Crew Management Systems, Crew Scheduling, Inflight or Flight Operations background highly desired
  • Proficiency in Crew Trac, FLiCA or similar aviation applications a plus
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreement regarding interpretation of scheduling and flight attendant pay sections preferred
  • Background in business systems analysis and support a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite with a high degree of proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of flight attendant and/or pilot pay and scheduling procedures
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to respond to and resolve flight attendant payroll inquires and make corresponding changes
  • Problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on working with data
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and communication skills
  • Ability to think and work under stress
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, employees and outside vendors
  • Ability to use good judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Must be detail-orientated and able to produce quality work under strict timelines
  • Knowledge of Flight Attendant and Pilot Handbook
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
