Advanced IT Systems Administration Specialist
Dedham, MA
Contract Position
$57.17/Hour
This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You would be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
- Install new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users.
- Responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware and network related interfaces on servers.
- Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and monitor physical and virtual servers performance using monitoring tools.
- Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
- Makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases
- Interacts with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff
- Conducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies
- Updating Anti-Virus
- Performs administration of servers in lab environments that are physical and virtualized using industry standard technologies
- Responsible for backing up maintaining backup solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience combined with 5 + years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree combined with 3 + years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
- Experience with a SIEM solution
- Solid understanding of server based operating systems
- Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the server OS as well as both networking and storage technologies
- Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes
- Solid understanding of Servers based operating systems
- Troubleshooting skills within the Servers OS as well as both networking and storage technologies
- Lean-Agile mindset Proficient in the understanding and becoming familiar with the Lean-Agile mindset
- Lean-Agile principles and practices (includes DevSecOps, Scurm, SAFe, and Kanban) Proficient knowledge of the Lean-Agile principles and practices (includes DevSecOps, Scurm, SAFe, and Kanban)
