Ads Business Operations Lead, Wondery

Wondery is looking for an Advertising Operations Business Operations Lead to support our rapidly growing business, reporting to the Head of Operations of Wondery. This is an exciting time to join a fast-growing company in an emerging new media space and in a role with broad scope and the potential to make a real impact. This person will work closely with the Head of Operations, Head of Sales, and Finance along with other internal and external stakeholders to establish Wondery as the leading global podcast ad network. This role is a critical member of the Operations Team, focused on revenue recognition, reporting, billing/close, using data to make decision that will help us scale by achieving operational efficiencies and optimizing margins.

The ideal candidate will have business/finance/operations experience in a media sales organization, ideally at an entertainment company or digital brand, and have a passion for storytelling and audio content.

Key job responsibilities

– Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations leaders to drive critical systems updates and initiatives while executing against the overall monetization strategy with a concentration on systems, scalability, and partner support.

– Work with finance, account and campaign management teams along with executive leaders at ART19 to close monthly advertising billing, reporting, and revenue recognition with an eye to automation; take full responsibility for billing and reporting to clients

– Drive strategy on scaling and implementing Amazon systems including new protocols for internal processes to better serve our customers through visibility and efficiency

– Partner with Finance to scale our current stack and with advertising operations and production to automate the life cycle of an ad from pitched to paid.

– Partner with sales in building models to evaluate strategic initiatives intended to continuously increase ad sales operational efficiency, quality, and scalability.

– Determine and track critical ad sales and operations Key Performance Indicators and make it easy to track and report on them; ensure the organization has transparency and ready access to sales performance data.

– Partner with Sales Leaders, Finance and our Partnerships teams to create and maintain inventory forecasting and campaign pacing.

– Partner with internal and external stakeholders to scope expanding our current workflow into new revenue streams such as video and international.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of relevant experience in revenue/sales operations/business role

– Experience with Microsoft systems and background in building, connecting, and implementing cross-departmental systems

– Negotiation and relationship building skills with sales teams

– Ability to craft and leverage data and analytics to drive strategy and results

– Cross functional experience working across multiple teams to drive efficiency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience with content creators, agencies, and brands

– Managerial experience

– Experience with Airtable and Boostr

– Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)

– Experience with Salesforce

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
