Position Description
The City of Inver Grove Heights is hiring a seasonal Adaptive Bowling League Leader to work with children and adults with disabilities in a recreation setting. This position would greet participants, assign lanes, collect payment, work with bowling alley staff to set up and take down adaptive equipment, assist bowlers with using adaptive equipment and serve as the main contact for the league.
Essential Job Functions
Supervising participants at all times, ensuring safety for all participants, physically assisting participants as needed, creating meaningful relationships with participants, preparing necessary reports and forms, serving as an advocate for individuals with disabilities and other duties as assigned.
Please note: The Adaptive Bowling League Leader will not be the only adult on-site for this program. Parents, guardians and caregivers attend to assist as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
16 years of age or older.
Experience working with families in a programming, instructional, or event capacity.
Ability to work effectively and communicate with Recreation Staff, participants, caregivers and/or parents.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates who are 18 years of age or older.
Experience working with or being around individuals with disabilities. Must be able to demonstrate patience, flexibility, communication, and organization.

Wednesdays, September 27 -November 15
The program starts at 5:30 pm and runs until two games of bowling are complete (typically 1.5-2 hours total).
Shift time: 5:15-around 7:15 pm (approximately).
