City Experiences is seeking a Accounts Payable Specialist for our Puerto Rico Ferry operation in San Juan, PR.

About the Opportunity:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and managing financial transactions in AP. This role ensures that invoices, payments, and receipts are processed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Oversees the receiving process to ensure that all invoices are matched to purchase orders and receipts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the review and verification of incoming invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all invoices match purchase orders and receipts, resolving discrepancies when necessary.
- Oversee incoming shipments, checking them against purchase orders, packing lists, or shipping documents.
- Prepare and process the client’s payment notification of the electronic payments, checks, and wire transfers.
- Maintain vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.
- Work collaboratively with other finance and accounting team members.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in accounts payable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Great Plains.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Time management and multitasking abilities.
