Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of financial and accounting activities at the facility. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative professional responsible for supporting the financial infrastructure.
This role will pay a wage of $70,000 to $80,000.

About the Venue
The UPMC Events Center opened in May 2019 and is home to Robert Morris Colonial Men’s & Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball as well as variety of events, such as commencement, concerts, meetings, conferences, featured speakers, and banquets. The 161,000 square foot multi-purpose facility boasts a 4,000 plus seat arena, the 11,000 sq. ft. UPMC Health Plan Conference Center, a practice court for Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball teams, and a strength and conditioning center.
Responsibilities
- Support facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and policies and procedures.
- Support financial statement preparation for the Client and Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, monthly forecast and annual budget.
- Prepare Client or external audit materials and financial reporting and implementing recommendations of Client as requested.
- Prepare Client or external audit materials and financial reporting and implementing Prepare and/or assists with event settlements.
- Reviews and executes all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
- Record Bi-weekly payroll into accounting system
- Perform account reconciliations, analyze discrepancies, and suggest course of corrective action.
- Maintain general ledgers, revenue distribution, operating expenses, and insurance records.
- Prepare Client or external audit materials and financial reporting and implementing recommendations of Client as requested.
- Prepare and execute journal entries.
- Accounts Payable oversight and vendor invoice approval
- Account Receivable oversight and customer invoice approval
- Bank Reconciliation
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
- 3 to 4 years of experience in public accounting and/or financial management
- Industry experience is preferred.
- The ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Experience with ADP payroll systems, and NetSuite preferred.
- Must pass background and credit check per guidelines.
- The ability to work night, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue.
- Knowledge of general and cost accounting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs
