SPECIAL NOTES:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is preferred.
Additional requirement:
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Additional preferences:
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- One (1) year of professional experience in preparing and maintaining accounting and/or financial records.
This position is anticipated to be filled at a salary between $38,000.00 – $40,000.00 annually (commensurate with experience).
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position does not have a telework option.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures; of the methods of compiling and analyzing data; of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; and of the methods of data collection. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports; to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records; to analyze and interpret accounting data; to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program; to communicate effectively; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to work independently; and to utilize problem-solving techniques.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Independently maintain accounting system and ledgers relative to the deposit or pledging of collateral and the release of previously pledged collateral. Analyzes accounting functions and processes dealing with collateral transaction business services and make recommendations regarding improvements.
- Independently utilizes analytical skills to evaluate collateral eligibility compliance based on applicable statutes and rules, execute procedures and process collateral transactions. Calculates market value and evaluates quality ratings for security deposit transactions. Maintain account ledgers on inventory database and transaction documentation on transactions processed.
- Monitor assigned accounts and pledged collateral with specific emphasis on upcoming maturities and under-collateralized accounts. Communicates with depositing entities and custodians to remedy matured collateral and/or under collateralized accounts. Independently monitors pending transactions to ensure they are timely resolved and properly documented.
- Participate in internal audit programs including the reconciliation and confirmation of collateral accounts.
- Serves as a backup to other business types and collateral transactions not specifically assigned as daily job duties.
- Recommends changes and assists in the development and implementation of new or improved accounting systems and policies and procedures related to the pledging and releasing of collateral and related accounting functions.
- Produce periodic and special purpose financial and/or management reports related to the deposit and release of collateral.
- Assists in the training of new personnel in same or lower class.
- Performs related work as required within the department.
