Job Responsibilities
The Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II performs paraprofessional accounting duties of posting, updating, reconciling, auditing, and running reports on all revenue for the college daily. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
• Maintain documents and files for all accounts receivable activity.
• Record financial transactions, posts to various accounts through journal entries, and deposit checks received from various state agencies and programs.
• Balance and reconcile accounts.
• Verify accounting documents and assist in implementing financial procedure changes.
• Provide support in preparing financial statements.
• Order and coordinate the storage and distribution of office supplies.
• Department purchasing card.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma and experience in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with 15 semester hours in accounting-related courses and two (2) years of accounting experience; or an associate degree with accounting-related courses and four (4) years of accounting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidate will have a working knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, auditing, and bookkeeping. The ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations and perform analysis of financial records and databases is essential to the success of this position. Must identify cashier’s errors and apply corrections. This position must follow department procedures and guidelines. Knowledge of modern office procedures, rules, regulations, and equipment is a plus. Must work with limited supervision, make sound decisions, and exercise good judgment in all matters. Flexibility during periods of increased registration and payments is essential. Must have the ability to train others and work out difficult situations. Excellent customer service and the ability to communicate in writing and verbally is a must.
