SUMMARY:
The Creative Content and Social Media Manager will work in collaboration with the athletics public relations and athletics marketing staffs to create and execute the overall ideation, creative direction and production of engaging digital content across multiple mediums, with a focus on @SpiderAthletics social media. This position will lead and assist in developing and executing social media content strategies and serve as a content creator. It will chart and record statistics and analytics that forecast trends in social media practices, providing models for successful approaches to strategy and growth. The position will provide real-time coverage at Richmond Athletics events, with an emphasis on creative video, photography and graphic design. The Creative Content & Social Media Manager will create branded content to showcase the Spider student-athlete experience, increase fan engagement, and drive revenue on various platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General creative content for social media in forms of video, photography and graphic design
- Oversee and execute creative social media content strategies for the athletics marketing department
- Serve as the primary publisher for the department-wide social media profiles to include Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other emerging social media platforms
- Chart and record statistics and analytics that forecast trends in social media practices, providing models for successful approaches to strategy and growth
- Provide strategic input into all design aspects for the athletics public relations and marketing departments to develop fan affinity
- Create branded content to showcase the Spider student-athlete experience
WORK HOURS:
- Full-time, exempt position
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
- Nights and weekends are required at times during the year
SALARY STRUCTURE:
Pay Grade 5 (Hiring Range $39,083.00 to $51,792.00 annually)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in photography/videography and editing is required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.
- Proficiency in graphic design required.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and statistics preferred.
- Proven success in social media engagement and growth preferred.
- Adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
- Individual must provide sample portfolio of work in graphic design and social media
