The Lead Release Engineer works collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate systems. The Lead Release Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Clinical IT – Operational & Partner Success organization is searching for a Lead Release Engineer who strives for excellence in streamlining the delivery of quality software solutions to enable members to achieve their best health. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, implement, test, deploy, support, and perpetually improve upon continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines utilizing new technologies, industry standard tool sets in a fast-paced Agile environment to optimize time-to-value for our customers. In this key role, you will help define and implement deployment, management and monitoring strategies while mentoring more junior team members in the development of infrastructure as code, automation, and observability best practices. The ideal candidate will be a creative technologist who is resilient, organized, determined, meticulous, and possess exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and build Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines with integrated quality gates to support rapid, iterative value delivery
- Partner with key stakeholders and customers to establish and maintain continuous improvement roadmap as it pertains to software delivery, automation, and observability
- Introduce and maintain system feedback loops to support establishment of baseline and evaluation of expected outcome
- Mentor and guide junior team members in the best practice implementation of emerging technologies and/or delivery methodologies
- Foster and mature DevOps culture and practices within the Clinical IT organization
- Support application and technology lifecycle management activities to preserve a quality platform
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years technical experience in software, network, or systems engineering supporting design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of complex software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques
- Comprehensive experience using Azure DevOps, Harness, Jenkins, or other platforms to support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
- 1+ year experience working with Cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Hands-on experience using Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, or other platforms to automate application and/or infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant cloud certifications (Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, etc.)
- Healthcare related experience

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$104,800 – $144,300 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
