Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To assure the delivery of quality nursing care to patients in their place of residence.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Carry out Physician’s Plan of Treatment and report changes as necessary
• Consult with physician regarding disease and symptom management needs
• Instruct and supervise the patient and/or the responsible person in meeting patient care needs
• Demonstrate the ability to observe, record and report needs/ concerns and coordinate the care of the patient while maintaining a constructive relationship with the patient and caregivers
• Provide supervisory visits for Certified Nurse Aides as per Medicare guidelines
• Participate in standby coverage to provide 24 hour RN availability to Home Health clients, will be on call a minimum of once a week and will be required to participate in call rotation on weekends, and holidays
• Develop a schedule for patient care and maintain a schedule that follows physician orders
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Basic computer literacy and have the ability to effectively learn new computer software as required
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Current CPR certification
• Current Registered Nurse license through the MS State Board of Nursing with one year nursing experience
Physical Requirements/Legal Requirements
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
• Current valid driver’s license and provide proof of liability insurance on personal vehicle at all times
• Maintain a personal vehicle for on the job transportation in all road and weather conditions
