Course of Study
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Marketing or MBA with a concentration in Marketing
Term
- 1 year in length [37.5 hours per week during the summer; ~20-25 hours per week during school year]
- Internship to begin in May and end the following May
- Location – Subaru Headquarters in Camden, NJ
- $19 an hour (undergrad)
Qualifications
- Junior (or a Senior planning to pursue a Master’s Degree in the fall)
- Must be an active student for the entire length of internship
- Curriculum and/or work experience portray a dedication to the pursuit of a marketing career
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong written communication, presentation, and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Internet technical understanding
Responsibilities
- Monthly trend reporting & analysis for Retail Relationship Marketing and Subaru Ambassador program
- Update monthly “Executive Update” PowerPoint slides for the two programs mentioned above
- Maintain history log of all creative templates including performance metrics for Retail Relationship Marketing
- Review brand protection ad-hoc request or infractions with the support of our partner vendor
- Monitor Subaru Ambassador Comments on Social Media
- Review candidate applications for Subaru Ambassador program
- Assist with maintaining internal Subaru Gear Store stock for employee purchase or usage, and owner gifts requests
- Assist in Subaru Gear pop-up store at local enthusiast/owner events.
- Support other reporting projects, audits, and ad-hoc reviews as needed
- Supporting professional and managers in any areas related to the above and will occasionally be required to manage projects independently and interact with partner agencies
- Compile the monthly Marketing Snapshot. Slides are provided to our area, which need to be uploaded to a deck.
- Attend research meetings and presentations, and manage follow up requests pertaining to questions asked during the presentation
Experiences
- Actively participate and assist with national meetings and external “owner” events
- Shadow various teams in Marketing, to broaden your understanding of the different roles & responsibilities
- Participate in various planning sessions for national brand and local dealership programs and communications
Summary
This position will provide experience and exposure to the Marketing Communications team at Subaru specifically in the Research and Analytics, Brand and Retail Relationship Marketing areas. The student will have exposure to daily departmental operations by supporting projects, participating in planning and executing meetings, and occasionally managing projects for various other Marketing groups.
