Email Marketing Specialist (Contract)

Compensation: $35-45 per hour DOE

The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing the effective use of our email marketing systems and marketing automation platform, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, for effective outbound marketing and lead nurturing programs for our partner networks and potential clients, and current clients. This position works collaboratively in a team setting with our marketing team to create and execute B2C and B2B email campaigns. The ideal candidate is experienced in email marketing and automation, a creative thinker, and a strategist with project management skills, a can-do attitude, and a team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Strategize, develop, and execute various email campaigns, including monthly newsletters, promotional emails, and lead nurture
  • Create, test, deploy, report, and analyze campaign
  • QA for email design and u/x to deliver perfect rendering across all major email clients (e., Gmail, Outlook, and various versions).
  • Maintain a database to meet standard compliance with opt-ins and opt-outs.
  • Conduct competitive market research to optimize existing strategies.
  • A/B test email campaigns (i.e., subject lines, body copy, CTAs, and more).
  • Setup automation workflows for clients, partners, and leads.
  • Work with the marketing team to strategize and develop B2B and B2C emails.
  • Maintain database through list cleanse and email validation tool.
  • Create list segmentations for dedicated audience targeting to various locations.
  • Assist with tracking and analyzing campaign performance for reporting.
  • Use industry standard best practices to optimize campaign performance.
  • Manage monthly email calendar
  • across multiple clients and campaigns to ensure on-time delivery, progression of messaging, etc.
  • Assisting with other digital marketing efforts related to lead generation.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Email Development, Web Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing email marketing campaigns for a digital agency or corporation
  • Ability to build, QA, test, deploy, and analyze email marketing
  • Professional skills with HTML, CSS, and variable data email marketing
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Pardot, MailChimp, Constant Contact, Campaign Monitor, Active Campaign, etc.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a similar marketing automation platform. Certification is a plus.
  • Graphic design and copywriting skills are a plus
  • Understanding of SMTP throttling and IP warming
  • Experience with email testing tools like Litmus or Email on Acid
  • An understanding of email validation techniques (DKIM Keys, SPF, RDNS, or DMARC)
  • Understanding of spam-filtering techniques and blacklists such as RBL, SpamAssassin, Vipul’s Razor, and others
  • List management and segmentation experience
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to manage deadlines and prioritize
  • An understanding of responsive design for mobile platform optimization
  • Ability to report on email performance with clear, concise, and data-driven analysis
