Administrator II – Performance Dietitian
Join a team of skilled engineers and scientists conducting leading edge human performance research for the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). This full-time position works alongside customer principal investigator(s) leading multi-disciplinary teams working to discover, demonstrate, and transition products and solutions from the full spectrum of bioscience, biotechnology, and aerospace medicine, to enable, enhance, sustain, and restore the health and performance of the multi-domain Airman. Work will be performed under supervision and guidance of an experienced Ball senior program manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist senior researchers and staff in the development of performance nutrition research portfolio. This portfolio will stand alone but are expected to complement existing lab portfolios in physical fitness interventions, movement screens, wearable device validation, and recovery technologies. Initial research projects will focus on the development and transition of nutrition software to elite military units and the validation of nutrition interventions for high-volume shift work.
- Participate in future research that will include the development and validation of performance nutraceuticals, strategic investment in commercial and government nutrition technologies, and application of contemporary data science to aid the development of automated nutrition profiles and precision diet interventions.
- Substantial travel from the position’s Dayton, Ohio location required within the initial six months of performance.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in a related field plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Master’s level degree in Nutrition Science (or related field) preferred.
- PhD in Nutrition, Exercise Science, or related field preferred.
- Certification from ADA (American Dietetic Association), such as RD (Registered Dietitian).
- CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) preferred.
- Two or more years of experience within either collegiate/professional athletics, and military organizations preferred.
- Prior experience with military human performance programs (directly supported or enabled) preferred.
- Existing secret-level (or higher) clearance preferred. Ability to obtain secret-level (or higher) clearance required.
- Experience with human performance software/applications preferred.
- CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) preferred.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $63,000 – $84,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
