Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an EpicCare Ambulatory Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate assists the Senior Directors in the guidance of the design, implementation and support of Epic applications. This role acts in a supervisory role for managers, leads, and analysts. The Director may have Application Managers or other management staff assisting in day to day supervision. This role will maintain a first-class team through retention and recruitment. The Epic Associate Director will lead, assign and monitor work for the Epic project team. Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of assigned Epic software, they serve as a liaison between end users and Epic implementation staff, and provide guidance and training to junior level staff. The Associate Director is recognized as a leader internally and externally for assigned applications and often provides strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services. As a member of the leadership team, the Associate Director also has responsibility for the success of the broader Epic project (i.e. outside their assigned application). The Associate Director supports the mission and vision of the organization with their team members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Directors and all Epic leadership in managing the scope, cost, schedule, quality, and success of the broader Epic project as described above.
- Understand and support the organizational culture
- Demonstrate organizational agility, i.e. the process of formal and informal networking; understanding origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures.
- Serve as a role model for peers and team members
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability for team expenses and budgets.
- Participate in and oversee the change management process.
- Appropriately allocate resources to provide all employees with the equipment, supplies, tools, and other resources required for productivity and success.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records and provide appropriate feedback regarding employee attendance, performance, training, compliance, etc.
- Perform human resource management of the staff, including performance reviews, action plans, as appropriate and professional development. Provide timely and respectful feedback for other team members.
- Meet frequently with analyst team.
- Monitor, evaluate, and justify staffing requirements.
- Participate in disaster recovery measures.
- Participate and /or facilitate user meetings and in-services; participating in internal team meetings.
- Assist with all Quality Assurance processes.
- Provide on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades.
- Ensure that data interfacing into and out of Epic meets business needs.
- Proactively research new functionality to guide whether or how it should be used.
- Ensure that teams are partnering with operational counterparts regarding potential system enhancement needs.
- Actively engage the training team by including them in team meetings and workflow validation.
- Ensure that all new releases and enhancements are thoroughly reviewed and tested.
- Work collaboratively with the technical teams to coordinate software updates and changes.
- Provide direction to their team to establish priorities in accordance with operational needs.
- Provide oversight for issue resolution within and across teams and escalate as appropriate.
- Communicate appropriately with other team directors with regard to shared work and dependencies across multiple groups.
- Be accountable for leading collaborative efforts with Epic and other members of the project team.
- Actively work on all aspects of project implementation.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills. Advanced analytical skills and experience implementing Epic applications. Strong interpersonal relationship skills. Good process design experience. Demonstrate ability in staff mentoring and adherence to process standards around documentation and workflow design. Advanced project management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues list, manage project plan). Ability to lead discovery initiatives to identify appropriate system solutions. Strong team building skills. Bachelors or Masters Degree in a relevant field of work and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Epic certification preferred. Healthcare experience is required.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $138,098.48 – $169,509.52 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
