Position Summary: The Digital Communications and Creative Director leads the DCCC’s online communications operation and manages a team of designers, video editors, and strategists. The ideal candidate will have previous campaign and/or Capitol Hill experience, possess a high degree of organization, and the ability to manage a team with vast and sometimes competing priorities. The Digital Communications and Creative Director must have a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage the DCCC’s digital communications and creative teams, including a deputy, several content strategists, designers, and video editors.
- Responsible for strategy and production of all organic content & programming on the DCCC’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube channels, and the DCCC Chair’s Facebook and Twitter channels, including rapid response and evergreen content.
- Spearhead the DCCC’s digital persuasion program.
- Function in a highly-visible, highly-collaborative role and update colleagues, senior staff, and other principles on the DCCC’s digital growth and opportunities for staff involvement.
- Serve as committee point-of-contact for digital vendors, and sister committee social leads.
- Oversee the development of the DCCC’s new in-house influencer program in coordination with the Deputy Digital Communications Director.
- Oversee development of digital campaigns and creative content for the purposes of garnering earned media.
- Advise campaigns on digital communication strategy.
- Champion the digital communications and creative teams – empowering them to maximize their talents; contribute where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentor and guide colleagues with regular feedback and recognition.

Requirements
- 4-6 years of either communications or digital storytelling experience.
- Strong understanding of strategic messaging, as well as best practices for communicating on social platforms.
- Fluency in a wide variety of social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and YouTube.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to draft social copy quickly for rapid response purposes.
- Directly manage and mentor a team of videographers, designers, motion graphics animators, and illustrators;
- Lead creative brainstorming and storyboarding sessions, driving the ideation process for all projects;
- Implement a cohesive and unique visual strategy across a multitude of content types including mobile/social video, vertical formats (e.g. Snapchat), and emerging platforms;
- Manage contracts with third-party vendors such as stock video and asset sites;
