Summary:
Processes Workers Comp and/or Maritime insurance claims by performing the following duties:
This hybrid position will be a combination of remote and onsite at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle, WA. Our hybrid work environment includes remote on Monday and Friday and in the Support Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with injured and ill employees and provide requested assistance, following company policies and procedures and all pertinent regulations
- Correspond with medical providers and other offices regarding the medical treatment of each claimant
- Maintain records of all communications with medical providers and injured workers including payments, medical records, wages and maintenance.
- Process payment of claims for injured and ill employees
- Transmit routine claims for payment or advises claims supervisor of claim status and if further investigation is indicated
- Record all claims costs in the claims database
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
- 2+ years of related experience or training (i.e. claims processing, medical assistance, paralegal, worker’s compensation, P&I, or accounting)
- High proficiency in Microsoft office
- Working effectively within a diverse environment while building strong relationships that helps and supports fellow employees in contributing to the overall success of the company
- Familiarity with claims processing systems is a plus (i.e. Origami)
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $28.85 to $36.
