Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$109,700.00 – $181,000.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Responsible and accountable for creating telematics strategy for Small Commercial Auto. Under general direction, partners with Small Commercial business leads, Product Management, Business Capabilities Office, Analytics & Research, Actuarial and Personal Insurance Auto to manage Small Commercial evolving telematics products. Requires a demonstrated expertise in the Auto product line (Commercial and/or Personal Insurance) and strong knowledge of all product management functions, with demonstrated competence in the analytic and pricing functions. This job may supervise staff.

What Will You Do?

  • Presents strategic overview and progress of telematics strategy to senior management on a frequent basis.
  • Be a leader of change and drive adoption of Small Commercial telematics offerings.
  • Create product management cadence and capabilities for Small Commercial.
  • Engage in all telematics vendor interactions to enable most optimal business outcome.
  • Manage workflow, systems and testing to ensure that deadlines are met in a multi-task environment with shifting priorities.
  • Manage implementation and documentation of changes.
  • Determine timelines/goals, priorities and set direction for telematics.
  • Promote efficiency and identify appropriate resource needs across primary working group, balancing additional effort against incremental lift gained from work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Typically, 10+ years’ experience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset that excels in the formulation of new and innovative ideas and projects.
  • Understanding of marketplace conditions and how they impact financial models and results.
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Line products, distribution channels, and regulatory environment; ability to identify needs for new product features.
  • Demonstrated underwriting, pricing, filing, coverage, systems and compliance expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and interpret technical material, such as competitive positions, frequency/severity trends, quantification of production costs and impacts of marketing and underwriting programs.
  • Clearly demonstrated sense of urgency. Takes ownership of problems and develops creative and sound solutions.
  • Project Management: develop and communicate realistic project plans; coordinate resources and tasks with other depts.
  • Leadership: take ownership/accountability for projects or roles, providing guidance and influence to achieve results. Demonstrate effective negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Customer focus: identify needs and implement actions to effectively address them. Behave with sense of urgency to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to influence others even without direct authority.
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Teamwork: effective working relationships
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Clear, logical, and effective verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6 years of insurance experience with expert understanding of products, underwriting, coverage, rules, forms, regulatory environment, risk management, pricing/filing processes and insurance financials required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
