Compliance Attorney

We’re looking for a dedicated and meticulous compliance staff attorney. In this role, you’ll use your legal skills and knowledge to review and approve a wide variety of marketing material. This includes copy for emails, websites, brochures, social media posts, newsletters, books, and more. We operate in a highly regulated industry where compliance is of paramount importance and attention to detail is a must.

The salary range for this role is $90,000.00 – $110,000.00, commensurate with experience. One must be currently licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes material for potential legal risks and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures all materials comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and corporate policies
  • Provides practical day-to-day and strategic advice to minimize legal risks while advancing business goals and initiatives
  • Reviews and quality checks large volumes of time-sensitive marketing material with accuracy
  • Advises multiple departments throughout the development process on a broad range of best legal practices and compliance issues
  • Legal research as needed for company projects
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent proofreading, editing, and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and multi-task under pressure
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive critiques with diplomacy and tact
  • Must be able to take the initiative to communicate potential problems and/or concerns
  • Must be proficient and have experience sifting through large amounts of content
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite) with the ability to learn new software
  • Knowledge and/or deep appreciation for self-defense rights, law-abiding gun ownership, the U.S. Constitution, and founding principles of the United States.

Education and Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution; licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and be in good standing (required)
  • 1-3 years of practice experience required
  • Excellent academic credentials and or law journal experience
  • Prior in-house counsel and/or private practice experience at a law firm is a plus
