We’re seeking reliable, enthusiastic, people-person’s to provide exceptional leadership to supervise the ticket sellers as they sell tickets for various events at the Portland’5 Centers for the Arts in downtown Portland. As the Ticket Services Event Supervisor you will:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in selling tickets during event.
  • Provide staff with cash and event information, including special promotions.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance; trains; evaluates; resolves disputes and problems.
  • Prepare accounting reports for ticket sales, disbursement and applicable ticket office charges for event settlements.
  • Prepare box office for event selling activates ticket sales; releases promoter and box office holds.
  • Maintain and reconcile ticket office cash inventory, including balancing safe, reconciling event cash receipts and payables and distributing cash advances to event promoters.
  • Provide customer service; assists with ticket sales, provides will-call, monitors box office lines.
  • Use creative problem solving skills to address seating, technical, and customer service issues as they arise.

  • Understanding of operations, services and activities of a ticket box office, specifically reserved seat ticketing.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and cash-handling best practices.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in a courteous manner both orally and in written form.
  • Work effectively and successfully in stressful and sometimes difficult situations.
  • Proven record of working effectively with information management systems, and adapt quickly to system changes and updates.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of promoters, clients, and the public and remain calm, professional and polite even while dealing with possible discourteous from others.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in the operation of a reserved seating box office or ticketing center; OR
  • We will consider any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

COMPENSATION AND REPRESENTATION
Based on therequirements, Metro’s internal equity review process, and the candidates’ qualifications, the appointment will typically be made between $22.60 an hour to salary equity rate of $23.41 an hour. The full-salary range for this position is $22.60 an hour to $30.09 an hour.

This position is eligible for overtime and is non-represented. It is classified as a Classification descriptions are typically written broadly and do not include the specific duties and responsibilities of the positions.
