Regional Operations Manager

Walsh is currently seeking a Regional Operations Manager for our Transportation/Heavy Civil division in Corona, California. Helping support our California and Arizona regions.

Walsh is looking for a Regional Operations Manager to who can facilitate the work of others. Someone who feels a strong sense of ownership over both the process and the results. A motivator who can build a culture of flexible productivity. Regional Operation Managers that accomplish more than others because they plan their work, and then work their plans.

Responsibilities

In this role, responsibilities include:

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to deliver construction projects
  • Actively participates in the design and execution of project safety and quality control activities
  • Assumes responsibility for project staffing and budgetary controls
  • Assists in the bid package development, pre-qualification activities, and budget preparation
  • Leads preconstruction meetings and coordinates answers to RFIs
  • Leads efforts to analyze risk and define schedule related issues, including analysis of long lead materials or equipment which may impact cash flow
  • Maintains relationships with customers
  • Analyzes and presents project delivery approaches, develops alternative approaches and facilitates implementation
  • Oversees project close-out and claim resolution
  • Serves as the primary contact for senior leadership relative to critical business initiatives
  • Other duties may arise as determined by Executives, Ownership, and Senior Leadership

Qualifications

We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent
  • 15+ years of extensive project management experience preferred
  • Experience with structural concrete (bridges, walls, large drainage structures), concrete paving, underground utilities, drainage, foundations, and earthwork is a plus
  • Legal and contract proficiency for public works in both California and Arizona
  • In depth understanding of construction productivity
  • Strong project management background is a plus
  • Excellent understanding of corporate operations
  • Willingness to relocate as needed
  • Must be willing to travel to projects within region of influence
  • Proficient in estimating, scheduling, budgeting cost, field supervision, financial reporting, and client relationships
  • Ability to interface with a variety of technical and business personnel with courtesy, tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to direct organize and communicate with team members at all levels
  • Experience recruiting and retaining talent
  • Ability to mitigate and assess risks
  • Salary Range: $183,000-$305,000 / Yr.
