Product Manager II – Minecraft

The Minecraft team is looking to hire aProduct ManagerII to join the Bedrock Platform Engineering Systems Team; we own the engineering infrastructure (build, test, cloud and on-prem devices, cloud services, etc) that enables the broader Minecraft engineering team to deliver a diverse set of Minecraft gaming experiences on over a dozen platforms.

This role will be accountable for planning, production, and delivery of key build, test, and other engineering investments across the Minecraft Bedrock Platform engineering teams. This role will manage and report on multiple projects aligning to release and team dates, and will contribute to the patterns, artifacts, and rhythm of the broader team including building and managing to product roadmaps.

We are seeking a Product Manager II with technical background and experience partnering with teams of engineers, quality assurance, and product managers through the full feature lifecycle. Your role will be tocollaborateacross the organization, understand and communicate requirements and information efficiently and effectively, drive for clarity to solutions, develop relationships that lead to efficient problem solving, and share the vision and outcomes to all the needed areas of the business, including leadership. The ability to track and deliver value to multiple cross-team initiatives simultaneously will be key. Leveraging data pipelines to produce and monitor reports on productivity and satisfaction metrics will be a daily activity.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a CI/CD system (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, etc).
  • Experience working with data sets and reports (Azure Cosmos DB, Kusto, Azure Data Explorer, ect).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understand all aspects of production and project management.
  • Experience running multiple or larger teams using both Office Suite as well as project management software (Jira, ADO, Hansoft, Asana etc.).
  • Excels at creating clarity and scope expectations in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Experience working directly with engineering, design, and quality disciplines.
  • Familiarity with Code, Build and Test Systems (Visual Studio, VS Code, MSBuild, Cmake, Android Studio)
  • Familiarity with PaSS, SaSS, IaSS solutions (Azure Preferred, GCP, AWS)

Product Management IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 – $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 – $198,600 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with team leadership to establish and communicate product opportunities and clear, measurable goals for your team.
  • Work across Mojang Studios with key stakeholders to track technology initiatives, interpret requirements, and build well-scoped and incremental plans that feed our engineering technology roadmap.
  • Ensure that product roadmaps clarify all needed aspects of direction, discovery, and scoping, to support stakeholder buy in and successful partnership with Engineering leads to deliver through all phases of development including investigation, execution, quality assurance, and deployment.
  • Define and own product/feature reporting and maintain stakeholder confidence in deliverables.
  • Collaborate across teams, resolving issues regardless of team boundaries, to uncover and mitigate risks and deliver excellent experiences for the Minecraft development team.
