We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Principal, Technology Product Manager to join our Technology Product Management area. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ or Lake Mary, FL.
This will be a flex/remote position.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
The Technology Product Management (TPM) team at BNY Mellon | Pershing is responsible for delivering innovative digital experiences to our clients. Our product vision and strategy are driven by voice of the client, business goals and objectives, and competitive intelligence. This dynamic team is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmaps for our products to design and build solutions that transform user experiences for financial services professionals and their clients.
As a product owner in the TPM – Data Analytics team, the ideal candidate has hands-on experience leading the Agile product development of data analytics solutions. He/she should be an effective cross-functional player between Business Analysis, Project Management, Engineering, User Experience and the rest of the product team. An in-depth understanding of technical infrastructure, scrappy approach towards testing a hypothesis combined with strong alignment and understanding of company’s business strategy will be a key to the success in this role.

- Ideating, experimenting, and analyzing new approaches for delivering information and support to users across a complex platform so as to measurably improve the client experience?
- Applying your expertise in organizing information about a variety of technology and business products/solutions so as to help internal and external clients improve the way they do business?
- Rolling up your sleeves to solve problems, manage the day-to-day support of a client-facing product, and build award-winning, competitive products and services?
- Collaborating with teams firmwide, coordinating with business partners, and reviewing client feedback to develop innovative solutions?
- Immersing yourself in a broad array of solutions to become a key player on a talented, Agile team of engineers, product managers, and business leaders who are developing the next generation of digital financial services?
You have or are:
- A strong understanding of Agile product development, adoption and learning strategies, and creating go-to-market campaigns.
- A self-motivated Subject Matter Expert with a very practical, tactical approach which enables you to earn the trust of and collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders;
- A collegial approach and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team that is part of a much larger, matrixed organization.
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.
- The drive to deliver game-changing technology solutions to our clients with efficiency and quality.

Qualifications & Requirements:
In this role you will:
- Assume product owner role for one or more agile scrum teams
- Develop product requirement backlog for one or more agile scrum teams
- Support business development through demonstrations to large sales prospects
- Develop subject matter expertise on all of Pershing’s data analytics solutions in order to respond to Requests for Proposals and Information
- Collaborate with other product managers to ensure consistency and compatibility across entire the NetX360 and NetXInvestor ecosystem
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis and build recommendations to decision makers
- Perform business testing and sign off on business requirements
- Point of escalation for production issues
- Support rollout and adoption of major initiatives
- Backup to Principal Product Manager on most aspects of product management
You have:
- Technology product experience, preferably in the financial industry
- Experience successfully leading complex products, which require engagement from diverse teams with their own set of priorities, to positive outcomes
- A passion for improving the financial lives of everyday people through the delivery of elegant and powerful digital tools they will want to use
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience required
- Experience in financial services industry is required
- Broker-dealer and/or RIA experience is a plus
- Experience in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is a plus
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a dynamically changing environment is preferred

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $108,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
