Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced and driven Paralegal to join our in-house legal team. The Paralegal supports our in-house attorneys and insurance manager. Under supervision of Corporate Counsel, provide general administrative assistance to Legal/ Insurance Department staff and its functions. Duties may include:
- Support in-house attorneys and insurance manager with claims and litigation management, including gathering facts and conducting interviews; coordinating with outside counsel; preparing and disseminating litigation hold notices; formulating and conducting e-discovery searches and compiling documents in response to subpoenas and discovery responses; reviewing and editing documents for filing.
- Serve as an administrator for the company’s contract lifecycle management system. Tasks include assisting with user training, troubleshooting, management of contract templates, running reports of performance metrics, supporting integrations, and conducting quality checks for completeness of contract and project information/documents submitted for legal review. Provide backup assistance for Legal Department Administrator to manage assignment of contracts to attorneys for legal review.
- Serve as a key contributor for creation of new claims database, import of existing claims data, and establishment of procedures for extraction of reports and ongoing management of the database.
- Assist with management of corporate documents and records maintained by the Legal department, including converting paper files to digital files, improving organization of electronic files, and establishing procedures for ongoing file management.
- Assist with review and processing of invoices from outside counsel.
- As needed, conduct legal research on matters related to litigation, compliance, contracts, and other corporate legal issues, and prepare memoranda to advise supervising counsel and other Legal Department staff on the results of research.
Education and Licensing requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or applicable Paralegal certification or training
- Experience with litigation or other practices requiring extraction and production of documents (e.g., investigations, transactional due diligence, or corporate governance
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or experience
- E-Discovery experience, including proficiency in conducting searches using terms and connectors, de-duplication of search results, and identification and logging of privileged materials.
- Experience with a range of office software and ability to become proficient with, Office 365, including Excel, Word, Share Point, and Outlook; Adobe products, including for creation of forms and templates; and DocuSign
- Experience as a administrator for a contract lifecycle management system or similar software platform is helpful, but not required. All training will be provided, and coding/programming skills are not needed to perform the role.
- Attention to detail, and analysis and research skills
- Problem solving and trouble shooting skills to identify business process gaps and select/implement optimal solution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional information
Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Generally, office work environment. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to independently travel and be physically present in the office or at a client site. The position will include a mix of remote work and in-office work in the Camp Hill, Pennsylvania office, as required for administrative duties (e.g., scanning files, mailing and printing documents, and participating in office meetings). It is estimated that the position will require 2+ days per week in the office.
