NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$75,900 – $146,200

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a motivated Operations and Engineering Lead to work with customers and facility partners to define, develop, and engineer facility process system requirements and resources. This position will be responsible for direct execution of projects, improvement activities, and support of the Facilities Assurance System to enable mission function and performance!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Design, develop, and document facilities work processes to include primary inputs, outputs, and expected work methods.
  • Analyze process design to reduce costs, improve work efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and performance.
  • Conduct Facilities assurance activities including audits, assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Drive and sustain maturation of the Facilities assurance system, processes, and procedures, and lead continual improvement efforts.
  • Plan and direct engineering and technical resources for facilities requirements, coordinating with other internal or external organizations.
  • Provide leadership and tactical planning for execution of projects and apply engineering or other technical knowledge to achieve project objectives and work to completion.
  • Use engineering judgment, built on a strong engineering and technical background to identify potential facilities operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommend risk acceptance or avoidance for facilities operations.
  • Negotiate on matters of customer requirements and limitations.
  • Recommend addition, expansion, or discontinuation of projects.

This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or relevant field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business plus two (2) years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: process design, quality, ES&H, assurance, facilities management, and risk management.
  • Understanding of Facilities and Infrastructure activities.
  • Experience using Maximo and TRIRIGA systems.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple and competing assignments.
  • Proven ability to work in a team-focused environment and exercise discretion.
  • Demonstrated success in communicating with staff and managers and providing quality service excellence.
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
  • Strong writing, systems thinking, communication, facilitation, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions requiring scientific or engineering judgment.
  • Knowledge of the technical or operational field of the assigned facilities area of responsibility.
