Mobile Mechanic Team Lead

Weyerhaeuser is currently recruiting for an experienced leader to fill the role of Mobile Mechanic Team Lead at the Grifton, NC Lumber Mill. The Mobile Mechanic Team Lead position is a full-time, hourly position and reports to the Dryside Maintenance Supervisor. The pay rate for this role is $28.84.

Key Functions:

  • Plan, develop, manage, and provide effective leadership for the Mobile maintenance team
  • Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns
  • Actively supervise and develop the Mobile maintenance team to ensure effective communication across and between shifts, and with the production teams
  • Utilize preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime
  • Efficiently use reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure rolling stock uptime.
  • Effectively utilize training resources to maximize team technical skills
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources
  • Lead team meetings and training
  • Identify safety, reliability, environmental, quality and production issues
  • Maximize equipment uptime by pre-ordering parts, scheduling maintenance and total system coordination with leads & supervisors, track/capture warranty issues, communicate well with a variety of vendors via phone/email
  • Implement and continuously improve Predictive Maintenance Program for individual machines
  • Reduce waste and take measures to proactively address all concerns
  • Proactively resolve employee issues, build teamwork, and ensure adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner

Qualifications

  • Able to work well with people with excellent communication skills
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Willing and able to work occasional weekends and holidays when business needs require
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with SAP, or similar inventory tracking system
  • 3-5 years of related working experience
  • Safety conscious and self-motivated
  • Work experience and performance will all be determining factors
