The MA supervisor position supports the Clinic Manager in the care of patients in a culturally diverse population within a clinic setting. The position is responsible for providing clinical oversight and leadership for all Medical Assistant (MA) staff, maintaining the quality and adequacy of MA practice.
Essential Functions

- Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, supervision, development, competency assessment and performance evaluation of MA staff
- Reviews and approves timecards and coordinates time off requests for MA staff
- Assists with completion of weekly clinic schedule as delegated by the Clinic Manager
- Monitors MA staff sick calls daily. Adjusts the clinical and administrative duties of the MA staff to ensure optimal allocation of staff. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Daily provider assignments
- Preparing/cleaning/sterilizing instruments
- MA staff cleaning/stocking exam rooms and clinic according to supply list and exchanging sharps containers
- Documentation of vaccine fridge/freezer temperature
- Serves as a member of the supervisory team, both as an advocate for MA staff and communicating issues to/from Clinic Manager
- Partners with Clinic Manager to ensure safety and infection control activities are completed
- Responds effectively to urgent/emergency situations
- Performs direct patient care based on clinic needs
- Provides constructive feedback to MA staff in a manner which facilitates enhanced knowledge, accountability, teamwork, and mutual respect
- Participates in the development of MA clinical care standards and orients/trains MA staff on standards and provides feedback on adherence to standards
- Communicates with Clinic Manager regarding general workflow within the clinic and immediately notifies Clinic Manager of urgent concerns during the shift
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
- Plans/executes/leads monthly MA staff meeting in collaboration with Clinic Manager
- Seek to understand and meet the needs of customers (patients, families, vendors, co-workers, etc.) through respectful, courteous, and culturally sensitive interactions
- Actively participate and work positively, flexibly, and cooperatively in a team effort within and across departments to accomplish the goals of the organization

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
- 2 plus years in a leadership role in a healthcare setting
- Preferred previous work experience, preferably in a medical setting
- MA certification (CMA/RMA) preferred
- Bilingual Hmong/English or Spanish/English preferred
- Proof of COVID Vaccination Required, Religious and Medical exemption will be considered
