Integrated Product Team Lead – KION Mobile Automation

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are growing in complexity and capability. As a Technical Project Manager you are the single point of contact with one or more KION Operating Units focused on new automated guided vehicle developments. You will rely heavily on your organizational, technical, interpersonal and communications skills to develop relationships of mutual understanding and trust with counterparts at the KION Operating Units. You will also work closely with our internal Kion Mobile Automation development team to manage technical program communications, communicate development priorities, track, and respond to issues, and report on progress.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 – $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

The key to our success is largely dependent on the stellar ability of our Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). The IPTs develop the hardware and software products that are deployed and serviced by the other KION Mobile Automation Teams. Moreover, the products delivered by the IPTs are a critical part of meeting out commitments to our customers and positioning KION as the global leader in mobile automation.

We’re currently searching for an Integrated Product Team Lead (m/f/d) to join our ranks and continue our tradition of success. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to strategize and implement high-level project and product initiatives.

As a natural born leader, you will lead the development project of one or more of our products. You’ll apply a combination of technical and organizational skills to coordinate this development between our different R&D domains and the larger iPEP project team which you will be part of to ensure the products are delivered on time with the highest quality.

In this role, you will be part of the Global Product Requirements Management Team reporting to the Integrated Product Team Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement, and maintain IPT initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
  • Serve as a key liaison role with internal stakeholders
  • Report the status of your product developments
  • Oversee your team in a matrix structure to ensure targets are met
  • Manage proactively your KMA projects to identify and mitigate risks in an early stage to avoid delays and budget increase.
  • Develop and manage budget for your project and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
  • Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
  • Ensure that your project team is working compliant with KION project Management and process standards – (G)PSC, iPEP, Gold, etc.
  • Refine project management processes within the IPT Team
  • Work closely within both your internal KMA project team and the iPEP project team which includes representatives from operations, procurement, product management, service, etc.
  • Foster a team environment that promotes continuous improvement and efficiency

Skills and Qualification:

  • You have a technical background and a degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of Lean Management and practical Lean implementation
  • PMI or IPMA certifications and a plus
  • You have experience in managing projects and programs within a complex organization.
  • You understand the product development lifecycle for technical products.
  • You enjoy solving complex problems to bring a product from a concept phase through to mass-production.
  • Experience in the field of automation is an asset.
  • You are able to work in an international and intercultural context.
  • You are diplomatic, open minded, flexible and creative.
  • Willingness to travel (15%).
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Additional language skills in French, Dutch, German or Mandarin are a plus.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
