Class Definition

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To perform highly responsible technical, analytical, evaluative and liaison work for the planning and development of human service programs, policies and systems on a statewide basis; to do related work as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the supervision of a superior with some latitude for the exercise of independent judgement; work is usually reviewed upon completion for effectiveness and adherence to desired objectives and results obtained.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: As required may supervise the work of clerical personnel assigned to assist.

Required Qualifications for Appointment

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: A working knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in the collection and organization of social and economic data used in the planning and development of human services programs, policies and systems; the ability to make technical studies and surveys and to analyze and evaluate said data and make policy and system recommendations; the ability to understand and use electronic file maintenance in effective working relations with federal, state and community officials as well as the general public; and related capacities and abilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: Such as may have been gained through: graduation from a college of recognized standing; and
Experience: Such as may have been gained through: employment in a responsible technical capacity in human service programs.
Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.

Supplemental Information

Specific duties include:
• Responsible for all PRAMS mailing activities, survey data entry, and maintain PRAMS mailing schedule
• Develop a high level of proficiency with all PRAMS software, including the PRAMS Integrated Data System (PIDS), in addition to Microsoft Word and Excel
• Run PIDS reports to assist in the monitoring of data collection activities and perform QA related to CDC PRAMS Protocols
• Work with the PRAMS Project Coordinator on PRAMS outreach activities and operational improvements to increase PRAMS response rates
• Assist in the monitoring of PRAMS telephone interviews to ensure that proper procedures are followed
• Conduct telephone interviews, if needed
• Locate new addresses and telephone numbers using KIDSNET and provider offices
• Maintain PRAMS Operations Manual
• Maintain inventory and supplies for PRAMS mailings, prepare PO documents related to orders needed for inventory, and prepare participants’ incentives and rewards
• Maintain security and confidentiality of PRAMS data
• Participate in the PRAMS Steering Committee meetings, CHDA Staff meetings, PRAMS Phone Vendor, meetings, CDC site visits, trainings, and workshops
• Other duties as needed

Preferred Skills:
• Thorough knowledge of data collection and the assurance of the quality of data entry
• Thorough understanding of the value of the data to public health programs
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (ACCESS, EXCEL, and WORD)
• Ability to learn and apply new software readily
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and written documentation skills
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
