Join the Village of Orland Park’s award winning Centennial Park Aquatic Center (CPAC) this summer as a Senior Assistant Cashier Manager. CPAC has been recognized as the Chicago southlands’ premiere pool, boasting a facility capacity of over 1700 patrons, voted #1 public pool by Chicago Magazine, and bringing in over 100,000 patrons each season.
This important, highly visible role will provide on-site, senior leadership to a team of up to 20 Cashiers on a regular and consistent basis.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- enforcing all rules and regulations of the aquatic center with a positive attitude
- being the main point of contact in handling escalated customer service or other daily operational issues
- maintaining and supplying cashiers with a daily bank in the necessary denominations
- reconciling the cash intake at the end of each shift
- running the appropriate daily reports, balancing totals and preparing deposits for armored car pick-up
- emptying the quarters from lockers in use by patrons to prepare a separate deposit
The position will also assist with hiring, training and scheduling employees. Other duties consist of supervising, evaluating, motivating, and providing discipline for unacceptable behavior by personnel with proper documentation; taking notice and properly adjusting staffing levels to fit the demands of the day; totaling and signing off on all timecards for payroll; making sure that the front entrance along with other spaces are clean and presentable to the public at all times; making sure all supplies are stocked; and opening or closing the entrance and activate/deactivate security system.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
The perfect candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma is required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of staff supervisory experience
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior cash handling experience, dealing with the public and experience in conflict/customer service management
- Experience in handling complaints with professionalism and courtesy, even under duress
- The ability to maintain confidential information, work within time constraints, prioritize work, prepare and maintain professionalism and objectivity, as well as be tactful and courteous in stressful situations
- OR any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
Must be at least 21 years of age and able to work full-time during the summer, from 5 to 6 days per week. Hours will vary but schedule is made in advance, hours will not exceed 40 hours/per week. Weekend and holiday availability is required from approximately May 20 to September 7th
Compensation & Benefits
$16.43/hour to $22.21/hour, DOQ
